Recipe for a Merry Indian Christmas!

3 sheets of wrapping paper, cut and decoratedd to resemble Christmas trees, taped up on the wall
2 whole sheep, murdered, skinned, and hung to "drain" in your front yard
6 boys from Myanmar to sing "Mary's Boychild" at the top of their lungs at our singsong service
100+ village cildren to come spend the day, fighting for a place on my lap\to hold my hand
3 hours of Christmas day service, all in Kannada or Telegu replete with a complete reinactment of the Christmas story, Indian style
100 000 litres of water to swim in on Christmas Eve
270 Rupees spent on chocolate for my North American contribution of fondue to the festivities (and yes, it did turn into a chocolate-face-smearing contest)
24 hours spent treating the 3 female students who stayed at the school for Christmas to a night-trip to Bangalore, replete with their first sandwich (subway!), pizza, and stay in a hotel!
1 000 000 moments of sadness of missing my family and friends desperately
1 000 001 moments of joy that reminded me exactly why the Lord wanted me to stay

Mix all together vigorously, bake at an average of +25 degree weather, and drizzle with an extra shot of rum left over from what I secretly added into the fondue...and in the apple cider...
ENJOY!
